Supporting and supervising

Providing the right level of support and supervision for volunteers can feel like a bit of a juggle. You don't want volunteers to feel like they are constantly being watched. But you also don't want them to feel like they are left to their own devices without support. A volunteer coordinator must provide the appropriate balance of support and supervision, manage expectations and match volunteers to roles.
